Working through the Podcast Academy’s diversity fellowship program, Greg Soros has helped numerous independent creators launch shows that may never have existed without access to professional guidance. His rationale is direct. “The podcasting industry has an accessibility problem,” he has said. “We have the technical expertise and industry connections to level the playing field, but more importantly, we have a responsibility to amplify voices that haven’t traditionally had access to premium production resources.”
That commitment has produced measurable results. Three shows developed by his mentees reached six-figure download numbers within their first year, and several creators have since secured major distribution deals outcomes that validate Soros’s belief that mentorship and business strategy are not separate concerns.
More Than Production Technique
What distinguishes Soros’s program is its scope. Drawing on his training at Berklee College of Music and hands-on experience at major podcasting studios, the podcaster teaches mentees narrative structure, sound design, audience development, and monetization all at once. He also connects creators directly with his industry network, opening doors to potential sponsors and distributors.
